Position Title: Gathering Place for Truth and Reconciliation Team Lead
Classification: Permanent Full-Time
Location: 445 King Street
Salary: To be Negotiated
Background: The 445 King Street Gathering Place for Truth and Reconciliation Team Lead will be responsible for the overall management and supervision of the Gathering Place for Truth and Reconciliation. The Team Lead assumes all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Centre’s philosophy, direction, and policy standards. The Team Lead will also be responsible for developing and implementing an inviting space for rental opportunities of the various meeting spaces. As well as the implementation of the MNP report. Ability to supervise 3 to 4 staff members.
KNOWLEDGE AND PERSONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining an effective working relationship with Indigenous and non-Indigenous organizations.
- Candidates with management experience in hospitality sectors would be an asset.
- 3-5 years’ experience in the Hospitality industry would be an asset regarding booking space for outside organizations, including the billings.
- Must ensure budgets and cost control procedures are being followed.
- Experience would be an asset such as HVAC, alarm systems and the regular maintenance of
- Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing and respond in a timely manner to enquiries from the public.
- Strong motivational and leadership skills.
- A team player/facilitator to encourage an environment that fosters effective results in teams.
- Flexible to respond effectively and positively in diverse relationships.
- Maintain a high level of independence and self-initiative.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions.
- Understanding of Indigenous customs, experience, traditions, and values is an asset.
- CPR and First Aid valid Certification
- Must be part of the Workplace Safety and Health Committee.
- A Valid Class 5 Drivers License and access to a vehicle would be needed.
