Position: Finance Clerk

Classification: Permanent Full Time 

Location: 350-200 Alpine Way, Headingley, Manitoba

Starting Salary: Subject to Qualification

GENERAL RESPONSBILITY:

The Finance Clerk will be responsible for entry-level accounting duties in the finance office. These duties will mainly include processing cheque requisitions and matching receipts, filing, ensuring the accuracy of internal tracking spreadsheets, and supplying these spreadsheets to other departments upon request. Other responsibilities include filling in for Accounts Payable during vacation or other time off and misc. duties as assigned by either the Finance Manager or Assistant Manager.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITY:

  2. Manages accounts payable processes.
  3. Reviews & matches receipts to cheque requisitions.
  4. Maintains office filing system
  5. Review & maintain internal tracking spreadsheets
  6. Reviews & records spending overages/underage in QuickBooks accounting software
  7. Calculations & records GST credits in QuickBooks accounting software
  8. Prepare cheques using the information in the supplied cheque requisitions
  9. Quality orientation.

  • Knowledge and Personal Experience Requirements:
  • Previous experience in A/P is an asset.
  • 0 – 1 year industry experience.
  • Excellent Excel and MS Office application knowledge (Word, Access, PowerPoint).
  • QuickBooks experience is an asset.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting functions.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Flexible and able to prioritize tasks.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with high credibility at all levels of the organization.
  • Self-motivator with the ability to work independently.
