Position Title: For Every Family Initiative/ Community Helper

Classification: Term (To end of March) Part-Time                         

Location: 575 Larsen Avenue Community Centre

Salary: Subject to Qualifications

Background:

As a Community Site Community Helper Team member, the FEFI Community Helper will be responsible for providing services to children, youth, and families residing primarily in the neighborhood catchment area in partnership with residents and other community-based agencies. Must have working knowledge and ability to input data daily and be willing to work evenings and Saturdays.

Qualifications:

  • Initiate, develop, and implement programs and services to address the neighborhood’s specific needs.
  • Experience working with community structures and community development processes.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with Indigenous and Non-Indigenous organizations.
  • Strong written/keyboarding skills.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word & Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must be willing to be a team player.
  • Ability to work with a high level of independence
  • Respectful to engaging people and building helping relationships
  • Strong motivational and leadership skills
  • Valid Manitoba driver’s license and access to a vehicle would be an asset
