Position: Family Group Conference Intake Helper
Classification: Full-Time Term until March 31, 2025 -Monday – Friday 8:30 am- 4:30 pm
Location: 445 King Street
Starting Salary: Subject to Qualifications/Experience
Background: The incumbent will manage the intake process for participants in our programs. This role involves assessing potential participants, gathering necessary documentation, and ensuring a smooth onboarding experience. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for helping others.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social services, a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience in program intake, case management, or a similar role.
- Must have superior assessment skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of community resources and social services is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining an effective working relationship with Indigenous and non-Indigenous, non-mandated organizations.
- Knowledge of the Manitoba Child and Family Services Act.
- Strong understanding of community capacity-building models of practice.
- Strong motivational and leadership skills.
- Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with staff, other agencies, and the public.
- Community service orientated to meet needs in a timely, conscientious manner effectively.
- A team player/facilitator to encourage an environment that fosters effective team results.
- Be respectful in engaging people and building helping relationships.
- Flexible to respond effectively and positively in diverse relationships.
- Be confident and positive and engage families in helping the relationship process or supporting, motivating, and encouraging others to make positive choices.
- Maintain a high level of independence and self-initiative.
- Subject to a Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry, and Prior Contact Checks.
