Position: Event & Campaign Lead
Classification: One-Year Term (Possible extension depending on funding)

Salary: $50,000 – $60,000
Background:
The Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre (Ma Mawi) is currently seeking an Event + Campaign Lead for a term contract. Under the supervision of the Communications Manager and in accordance with the Centre’s philosophy and principles of service, the Event + Campaign Lead will coordinate internal and external events and campaigns.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate internal Ma Mawi events including general staff meetings and family fun day.
- Organize event committee meetings to gather input and direction on upcoming events.
- Develop and oversee event plans, including outlining budgets, marketing strategies, work back schedules, and post event reporting.
- Work with Youth Program and Sacred 7 Youth Council to support youth-led events.
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, event venues, and other contractors.
- Attend external events and tradeshows to promote Ma Mawi programs.
- Support community giveaways and other online campaigns throughout the year.
- Create and maintain calendar of events, campaigns, and other important dates.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with Ma Mawi staff, volunteers, consultants, and sister organizations.
- Other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Event Management, Project Management, related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Understanding of social media and other marketing tools.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft 365.
- Able to meet tight deadlines and execute flawlessly on projects in a fast-paced, often pressured environment to see a project through to completion.
- Capable of maintaining confidentiality, with a high level of accuracy regarding information.
- Respectful to engage people and build helping relationships.
- Flexible to respond effectively and positively in diverse relationships.
- Understanding of Indigenous values and community issues; and
- Subject to Criminal/Prior Contact and Child Abuse Registry checks.
