Position Title: Circle of Care Team Lead
Classification: Full-Time

The Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre is seeking an individual for the Term Full-Time Team Lead position for the Circle of Care. Circle of Care is a licensed Child and Family All Nations Coordinated Response Network (ANCR) emergency care program (residential care facility-group home) for children 0-10 years of age who require short-term care of a maximum 30-days to either; return to family, or longer-term placement. Circle of Care offers 6-licensed short-term beds with in-house culturally appropriate programming and works with ANCR and CFS mandated agencies and other collaterals to provide emergency care, support, and care planning using Indigenous cultural practices.
Responsibilities:
- Participates in establishing, implementing, monitoring and evaluation of program, policies, standards and procedures.
- Maintains an awareness of and facilitates knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and practices of governments and external agencies that impact upon the program.
- Assists in hiring new team members.
- Schedules all shifts for team members.
- Provides direction and supervision of operational directives with the team.
- Assists individual team members in the assessment, development, implementation and review of case plans for children in collaboration with ANCR and ongoing CFS agencies.
- Identifies and arranges individual and program area training needs of team members.
- Participates in budgeting and financial management for the House.
- Maintains an accurate record of statistical and financial information.
Qualifications:
- BSW degree or acceptable equivalent and related Residential Care facility experience
- Must have experience supervising and be able to encourage an environment that fosters effective teams through strong motivational and leadership skills
- Must be able to implement and support a model of care that supports the development of young children
- Ability to work under high stress and demanding conditions
- Superior problem-solving, verbal and written skills and the ability to set and meet deadlines
- Ability to build relationships with Agencies, biological families, communities and collateral agencies
- Knowledge of the Child Welfare legislation and standards would be an asset.
- Must have a valid Manitoba’s Driver’s License and Must provide current Police/Child Abuse checks
