Position: Cedar Circle Manager

Background: The Cedar Circle Manager is responsible for the strategic coordination, support, and building upon Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre’s capacity to improve our networks and enhance our existing services to address sexual exploitation/sex trafficking in Winnipeg.

General Responsibility: The Cedar Circle Manager takes a Survivor-led approach to the implementation of the Cedar Circle Project that aims to support the healing journey of Survivors and elevate their voices without re-exploitation.  The Cedar Circle Manager also represents the organization as the initial point of contact for community members and service providers who request information, training, and services about sexual exploitation/ sex trafficking in Winnipeg.

Knowledge and Personal Experience Requirements:

  • Diploma in human/ social services or related field. A combination of education, training, volunteerism and lived experience will be considered.
  • Experience working with people who have experienced sexual exploitation/ sex trafficking, including demonstrable experience in ensuring survivor protection with sensitivity utilizing a strength-based approach.
  • Knowledge and/or lived experience of issues impacting Survivors of sexual exploitation/ sex trafficking.
  • Knowledge of utilizing a gender-based plus analysis inclusive of 2SLGBTQQIA+ Women and Girls
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to eliminating sexual exploitation/ sex trafficking
  • Demonstrated wisdom with incorporating Indigenous culture, protocols, and practices into programs and services.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering successful training sessions, facilitating meetings as well as developing and implementing organizational procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with community partners.
  • Knowledge of Child Welfare Legislation, standards, and regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, energize and supervise, including the ability to coordinate many people with varying skills, abilities, and life experience.
  • Ability to accept and respond to constructive criticism and feedback in a cooperative and respectful manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Strong computer technology skills, including use of Microsoft office: Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Subject to criminal/ prior contact and Child Abuse Checks

Must have a vehicle and valid Manitoba Drivers License
