Position: Care Planner  

Classification: Permanent Full-Time Monday-Friday 8 am-4 pm

Location: Luke’s Place

Starting Salary: Subject to Qualifications

Background:   

The Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre is currently seeking an individual for the position as Care Planner. Luke’s Place strives to provide a nurturing and safe environment for young male’s ages 11-14 years old. The site is a four- bed facility that operates 24 hours 7 days a week and offers a range of assessment and support services. Luke’s Place is a safe and nurturing environment where the young men will have the opportunity to experience a strong sense of caring, support and encouragement while building the capacity to achieve their goals and dreams. The successful candidate will be responsible to facilitate and support at risk males 11-14 years of age. 

Qualifications:

  • Child & Youth Care Diploma or acceptable equivalent and related experience
  • Residential Care experience would be an asset
  • Caseload and healing plan development and implementing with the young males.
  • Provides support/supervision to the youth.
  • Program development and facilitation skills.
  • Liaises and consults with collateral agencies with regard to specific service recipient or service concerns in general
  • Needs to have the ability to work cooperatively with others and contribute as a team member.
  • Ability to work under stressful situations.
  • Knowledge of the Child Welfare Legislation and standards
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of Indigenous values and community issues.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License
