Position: Communications & Administration Coordinator – EmpowerMen Project

Classification: Full-Time Term – until March 31 2026

Location: 445 King Street

Salary: starting at $50,000/annum (subject to qualifications)

Background:

The Communications and Administration Coordinator is responsible for promoting the EmpowerMen Project by developing and executing a communications strategy. The candidate will assist in developing, implementing external and internal communications, and measuring outcomes.  The coordinator is also responsible for all communications and networking in support of events as well as administrative support.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and edit various regular communication publications on social media, website, and promotional materials.
  • Prepare and analyze web statistics to evaluate the reach of the project and create opportunities to expand impact.
  • Promote the project and its message with various partner organizations.
  • Assist with event planning by managing registration software, audio-visual equipment, etc.
  • Provide administrative support to the team by preparing reports, project updates, preparing and follow-up to meetings such as invites, minutes, etc.

 Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Administration, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 (five) years in public relations, media, communications, marketing or administrative field
  • Must possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication with strong writing and editorial abilities.
  • Strong working knowledge of communication principles and practices.
  • Experience in graphic design, print or video production, and image editing software
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, internet, media monitoring software, e.g.: Canva Pro, Adobe Creative Cloud, WordPress, GoDaddy, Mailchimp, Google Workspace, Hootsuite
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Demonstrated success with Social Media tools such as Facebook, Instagram and others
  • Must be able to meet tight deadlines, execute flawless projects in a fast-paced, often pressured environment, and see a project through to completion.
  • Must have a valid Manitoba Driver’s License and access to a vehicle
  • Ability to travel within Manitoba
