Position Title: Systems Navigator 

Location: Gathering Place for Truth and Reconciliation 445 King Street

Classification: Full-Time Term to March 31, 2026

Salary: To be negotiated

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY: The Systems Navigator is key in supporting Indigenous relatives in navigating complex life circumstances. This role focuses on building trusting relationships, providing culturally responsive guidance, and connecting relatives to the resources, services, and support they need to achieve their goals. Grounded in a holistic, trauma-informed, and empowerment-driven approach, the Systems Navigator walks alongside relatives on their journey, fostering resilience, cultural connection, and community well-being.

Education, Experience, and Knowledge:

  • A degree, diploma, or relevant certification in Social Work, Community Development, or a related field is valued, though lived experience and demonstrated expertise will also be considered.
  • Proven experience working with Indigenous communities, focusing on addressing systemic challenges such as housing, poverty, and access to services.
  • Deep understanding of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and the lasting impacts of colonization and systemic barriers.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed practices and their application in effectively supporting individuals and families navigating complex challenges.
  • Knowledge of harm reduction principles and overdose prevention strategies, including naloxone administration.
  • Ability to work with a high level of independence.
  • Basic Computer skills
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Subject to Criminal, Prior Contact, and Child Abuse Checks.
  • Having a valid Manitoba Driver’s license and access to a vehicle would be an asset.
