Position: Corporate and Research Coordinator– EmpowerMen Project

Classification: Full-Time Term – until August 31, 2026

Location: 443 Spence Street Site

Background:

The EmpowerMen Project is part of Ma Mawi and engages men and boys to prevent sexual exploitation

and human trafficking. The Corporate and Research Coordinator is responsible for developing,

implementing, and monitoring outreach activities with the business community to increase awareness,

prevention and innovative efforts to combat sexual exploitation and human trafficking. This includes to

collaboratively develop, test, and implement promising strategies (such as trainings, codes of conduct,

awareness campaigns) together with corporate partners that prevent exploitation by promoting respect,

safety and wellbeing.

The coordinator will also provide support and guidance to the research aspect of the EmpowerMen

Project in collaboration with academic and community partners. The research will increase knowledge

about the use of new technologies in human trafficking and explore solutions for various sectors.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in public relations, social services, policy analysis, community development or a similar field
  • Minimum of three years of experience in social services, research, communications, marketing, policy development or related field
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience in development and implementation of workplace policies and procedures an asset
  • Experience in qualitative or quantitative research an asset
  • Supports Indigenous values and has knowledge of Indigenous cultures
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with partners from various backgrounds (corporate and academic sector).
  • Ability to convey complex topics in an understandable and convincing way
  • flexibility to adapt to changing workload
  • Very good presentation skills to engage audiences of different sizes and backgrounds
  • Knowledge of sexual exploitation, human trafficking and its impact on individuals and community an asset
  • Results and outcome oriented
  • Open and engaging personality
  • Highly organized and self-motivated
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others and contribute as a team member
  • Possesses a strong work ethic
  • Driver’s License and access to vehicle
  • Strong computer technology skills, including use of Microsoft office: Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability to work occasionally in the evening and on weekends
